TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS

Ambassadorial Scholar Orientation – Friday 22nd – Sunday 23rd February 2008

TRF have approved the budget so we can now move on with the Orientation programme for ALL Ambassadorial Scholars – In and Outbound in Southern Africa.
The Orientation program covers very interesting subjects, which I’m sure you will find most stimulating.
We will also be having FUN!

TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS
For all students outside of D9350 you will need to make your own flight arrangements to ensure that you are in Cape Town on Friday 22nd February 2008 - before 11h30 at the Mountain Manor Back Packers
Those flying from Johannesburg – try to book on Kulula.com . www.kulula.com - for excellent rates BOOK EARLY.
Also try South African Airways www.flysaa.co.za . Do not try to book on Nation Wide as they have been grounded!
From Durban …there is only one Kulula flight per day so please make your booking very early.
Please try to coordinate your flight with other students from your area to make things so much easier for us to meet a group as opposed to individuals on scattered flights.
You will be met at arrivals by our Shuttle driver Rickey……more on this later.

In short – MAKE YOUR BOOKING NOW otherwise you will find that you have a problem to get cheap flights. Remember you are responsible for any amount over and above the R1000.00 max re-imbursive allowance.
I have arranged accommodation for all students (including local students) at Mountain Manor Backpackers. More about this later.

Please let me have your flight details as soon as you have them.

I have arranged for a re-imbursive travel allowance for students flying in from outside Cape Town.
The cash for your flight will be paid by electronic transfer of funds directly into your own RSA bank account.
This will be refunded by EFT on receipt of the faxed copy of your flight ticket and will be limited to a maximum amount of R1000.00. You should be able to arrange a flight within this figure but you must book early!

Please let me have:

Name of your BANK account
Your account number
Name of your bank/branch
Branch code

WHAT TO BRING
Casual clothing for a very relaxed atmosphere at the Royal Cape Yacht Club.
Personal effects
Swimsuit – You may just be able to stand the COLD water of Clifton beach!
Walking shoes
A windbreaker and shoes for a short mountain walk.
Camera

Space is at a premium so please pack light in small duffelbag or carry-on case.

THE PROGRAMME
The provisional program is on this blog and is still subject to confirmation.
In addition to this, I’m sure that many of you may wish to experience more of Cape Town. This is your own choice and you may decide to stay on for a few days and to visit places of interest. There are many tours, which are available at reasonable prices, and here I suggest that you check out Hylton Ross on their website
www.hyltonross.co.za They will collect you from your backpackers.
All tour arrangements + additional accommodation will be for your own account
